And you're awesome. Hey, I've always thought it a bit sad that Neanderthals are always portrayed as hulking thugs clubbing mammoths and mates with equal abandon. That is why I loved the painting that I used at the top of this article... I like to think that at one point, before I myself became the hairy, bearded, thuggish duuude I am now, at one point I too was a child, sensitively pondering that beetle crawling on a leaf - before I smooshed it. Sorry, kids and Neanderthals are just unmitigated brutes. But I wonder, is it possible to write a poem to a Neanderthal? Or is that asking too much of the arts? ;)
