On the square root, that does not appear to hold for the lower number of tests, like 2, 3 or 4, and only for some number of samples for 5 tests.

My brute force tables confirm the combinatorics equations, and those have been used for a few hundred years and are pretty well accepted - I just didn't know about them until I needed them. ;).
