Thanks for reading Christine! Good question and sorry I didn't think to talk about that! If you look at the 6th photo with the caption "Small table apron components dry-fit (not glued) together to check fit" you'll see on the inside of the apron pieces some long grooves machined on the inside faces. The tabletop sits on top of that apron assembly. In those grooves I've made little "L" shaped wood buttons that fit into those grooves, and then screw into the underside of the top. It's pretty firmly attached to the base assembly that way. Does that make sense? These are classic cases where a picture is worth a thousand duuudely words!
