What a great perspective to meld mindfulness and woodworking! I often think of my basement shop as my place to zen out, but my continual stream of mistakes and expletives kind of ruins the idea of a meditative state... ;).

I'm totally psyched that you are starting this journey in wood!

Your two projects are perfect starter projects for a novice - with A being easier than B since you are using brackets to attach the parts.

B is alo a reasonable starter project, only slightly more challenging than A since it has mortise and tenon joints (the rectangular "pegs" are the tenons and the holes they fit into are the mortises). But nothing you can't accomplish with the right tools.

We've got several woodworkers here who can help give you advice (like any craft, when you ask two woodworkers how to do something, you'll get three opinions...). ;)

I am happy to help in any way I can, as one novice to another.

Happy Woodworking!
